Sownds, Flashback and More will Rock Downtown Days…Streets Alive!

Downtown Days…Streets Alive! features two stages of entertainment over the three-day festival weekend.

Evening performances draw big crowds, and this year will be no different. Friday night on the Depot Stage will be Sownds, which is quickly becoming a Kansas City Chiefs fan favorite with their song “Chop it Up,” the new Chiefs theme song. “Sownds” will feature a great mix of rock, pop and hip hop. Also on the Depot stage Friday night will be “Flashback.” This is Kansas City’s Classic Rock and R&B band. They will feature everything from Stevie Ray Vaughan and Tom Petty to Stevie Wonder and Jimmy Buffet. John Kelly, owner of Jerry’s Bait Shop and member of the Downtown Days Entertainment Committee exclaims, “If you like Chicago and Steely Dan, you will love Flashback!” These two bands are sure to have you out of your seat dancing and singing along!

Saturday evening, be sure to visit the Depot Stage for the incredible line up of Clint Martinez Band and Western Automatic and the Jerry’s Stage for KC/DC. The Clint Martinez Band, from Long Beach, California, has played alongside national touring acts such as Rocco Deluca, Delta Nova and Frame of Mind. The band’s music is west coast surf scene influenced. The mix of original tracks with covers from popular artists like Sublime, DMB, 311 and Ben Harper draw large audiences. If you’re a Jazz lover, don’t miss “Western Automatic.” They are a roots-based band that brings sounds of blues, jazz, blue grass and funk. They are a must-see, must-hear act! Also be sure to see KC/DC at the Jerry’s Stage. The look, the feel, the sound…  It doesn’t get more AC/DC than KC/DC! There will be a $10 cover charge to see KC/DC.

A variety of other performers will take the Downtown Days…Streets Alive stages, including Funky Fire Monkeys, Four Roads Crossing, Almost Serious and Kansas City Drum Tribe.
